- History but... trendy? -

I think one of the reasons I love traveling to new countries and experiencing their culture is because it feels like my home country, America, fails to offer me the rich, old, history I thirst for. When you look at America’s history it’s so, current. History, American history is being made right before our eyes, and with technology and social media, everything is happening now. American culture, I would say is being formed in real-time. It doesn’t seem to ever stop. I don’t feel like I have time to observe and digest what has happened because we’ve already moved on to the next ‘big thing’.

That’s what American culture is. Trend. And honestly, it’s a little boring. It feels as if there isn’t any intention or purpose to America except a place to set trends. I think that’s why I’m attracted to other cultures so much. Granted they have their own cultural shifts they are going through but, somehow they have co-exist with the old with the new. These new traditions filled with influential intent and purpose from the past. There are ideas that have been passed down from generation to generation in an effort to maintain identity and connections of who and where you came from. I don’t feel America gives me that. I guess because I feel America lacks that, I search for it in other lands. oh well. on to the next adventure.

Here are some photos of me at a really cute and trendy wine bar in San Francisco! Somehow I always end up matching the decor of all the places I visit and I think that’s a little weird.
